The study of the Great Highland Bagpipe has a rich history that goes back hundreds of years and is steeped in a proud, rich culture that we Scots LOVE to share! To begin the study of the bagpipe students will start on a Practice Chanter, which will continue to be used even after the student is a piper fully up on a full set of pipes. Even professionals use Practice Chanters. IMPORTANT Do NOT run out and buy a set of bagpipes or a practice chanter before you’ve contacted us. We will help you find an affordable instrument that will last you a lifetime. A cheaply made set of pipes will not tune or play properly and are no better than an expensive bag of kindling. A Practice Chanter will run you around $100 and will last you forever, but again, please let your piping instructor help you find what you need FIRST.
